  Epitaxial and colloidal nanostructures are of great interest due to their unique properties and promising applications in high performance optoelectronic devices such as single electron transistors, lasers, light emitting diodes, infrared photodetectors and solar cells. For these applications, control of the size, shape and size distribution of nanostructures in optoelectronic devices is expected to play an important role. In addition, the carrier dynamics of nanostructures is very important, not only for understanding the fundamental physics of nanostructures, but also for improving the performance of optoelectronic devices. Furthermore, tuning the structural and optical properties of is useful for the fabrication of optoelectronic devices. In this talk, we will present the various techniques for controlling and tuning the structural and optical properties of epitaxial and colloidal nanostructures.
